- The Tartu County Public Transport Center organizes ferry transportation to a small island named Piirissaar. The island is located in Lake Peipus. The ferry departs from Laaksaare port, which is located 68 km away from the city of Tartu.

General information
- During the summer season when the lake is navigable, passengers are transported by the ferry named Koidula.
- In the winter period when the ferry cannot operate, due to ice, passengers are transported by a hovercraft.
Koidula ferry
- The passenger ferry Koidula accommodates up to fifty passengers, in addition five cars, one truck or a bus.
- The journey to Piirissaare on the passenger ferry Koidula takes approximately 45 minutes. The ferry also has a small on-board shop.
- Please be at the port at least 15 minutes before the scheduled ferry departure time.
Ticket information
- Tickets can be purchased in electronic form in advance from the AS Kihnu Veeteed website.
- In advance, thirty-five tickets are available, and fifteen tickets are offered on-site before the ferry departure.
- Additionally, information on schedules, ticket prices, and emergency notices are available on the AS Kihnu Veeteed website.

Bus connection with the ferry line
- For several departures, we offer the opportunity to travel on the county bus from Tartu bus station to Laaksaare port connected with the ferry departure times.
- Also, on some departures in the opposite direction, coming from Piirissaare, continue the journey by bus towards Tartu.

Hovercraft
- During the winter period when Lake Peipus is not navigable, the hovercraft travels the route.
- The hovercraft journey takes approximately 15 minutes.
- Please be at the port at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

- For hovercraft journey, it is recommended to purchase an e-ticket in advance from the AS Kihnu Veeteed website.

Buses connected with the hovercraft line
- We also offer the opportunity during the winter season for a single departure to travel by county bus from Tartu to Laaksaare port at the time of the hovercraft departure.
- Similarly, on three departures when coming from Piirissaare, it is possible to continue the journey towards Tartu.

- AS Hansa Bussiliinid serves the connection between Laaksaare port and Tartu with new buses in golden livery.
